Tanjung Puting, de paseo con orangutanes

Nuestros primeros pasos por Indonesia resultaron cansados y cargados de muuucha paciencia. Antes de aventurarnos en el bullicio de Bali y compañía, decidimos pasar primero por el Borneo Indonesio, Kalimantan, para ver la famosa jungla del Tanjung Puting y sus orangutanes. Para ello volamos desde Kuala Lumpur a Surabaya, en la isla de Java, desde donde pudimos reservar un ferry hasta Kalimantan para el día siguiente. Y menos mal, la ciudad de Surabaya solo nos ha servido para conocer las típicas ciudades de Indonesia, grandes y sin mucho que ver...

Así que al día siguiente nos dirigimos al puerto, muy contentos hasta que al llegar nos enteramos de que el ferry saldría 12h después de lo previsto, en vez de a las 15h, saldríamos a la 1h de la mañana... Sin desesperarnos, pagamos 10mil rupias (menos de un euro) por un par de cartones semiplastificados para tumbarnos en el suelo (en las puertas del puerto, dentro no dejaban pasar...) junto a cientos de lugareños. Podemos decir que esta ha sido una de las experiencias que más han puesto a prueba nuestra paciencia. Los lugareños parecían de lo más acostumbrados a las largas esperas, teniendo en cuenta de que este ferry solo zarpa un par de veces por semana. Niños jugando y haciendo barullo, mayores entreteniéndose con cartas y un montón de vendedores ambulantes con sopa, dulces, fruta y souvenirs nos acompañaron en la larga espera. Aprovechamos el tiempo para hacer muchas cosas, leer la guía para planificar próximos pasos, y otros libros, dormir varias horas de siesta (el cansacio nunca me había apremiado tanto para poder dormir unas 4h en el suelo, y agustico, eh?), bostezar, beber batidos de cacao con grumos, tomar sopa, volver a bostezar... Finalmente el ferry salió a las 6h de la mañana, las 4h extras de retraso fueron de regalo!! Gracias!!

Cameron Highlands, destino verde, verde!!

Duespués de los múltiples pasos por playas e islas, ya nos tocaba un poquito de montaña y Malasia nos tenía preparado un destino perfecto para la ocasión. Tras un viaje en barquito y un par de minibuses, llegamos a Cameron Highlands para disfrutar al momento de su fresquito... ¡Y qué fresquito! El polar y las botas del fondo de la mochila hicieron su aparición tras muchas semanas de olvido... ¡Que rico dormir con mantita!

Nos alojamos en Twin Pines, que nos hacía mucha gracia porque siempre nos daba por llamarlo Twin Peaks, jijiji... Y nos fuimos directos a reservar una excursión de las típicas por la zona para el día siguiente: paseo por los campos de té con visita a la fábrica, rutilla por zona de jungla, subida al monte más alto de por allá (2.031m, tampoco es lo más...) y visita a un mariposario.
