Kuala Lumpur… y el final de nuestro paso por Malasia

Después de unos días de descanso en Cameron Highlands, nos fuimos en un bus hacia Kuala Lumpur... y por fin era un bus de verdad, no una van. Unas cuantas curvas para bajar la montaña, una larga carretera, unos edificios altos que se vislumbraban en el horizonte, una calle de bastante caos, un sitio menos pintoresco y llegamos a nuestra parada: Chinatown.
Al parecer, uno de los lugares más concurridos por la gente de a pie. Hay muchos negocios alrededor, sin contar los tropecientos kioskos que hay en la calle mas conocida del Chinatown Malayo: Petaling Street.

Cameron Highlands, destino verde, verde!!

Duespués de los múltiples pasos por playas e islas, ya nos tocaba un poquito de montaña y Malasia nos tenía preparado un destino perfecto para la ocasión. Tras un viaje en barquito y un par de minibuses, llegamos a Cameron Highlands para disfrutar al momento de su fresquito... ¡Y qué fresquito! El polar y las botas del fondo de la mochila hicieron su aparición tras muchas semanas de olvido... ¡Que rico dormir con mantita!

Nos alojamos en Twin Pines, que nos hacía mucha gracia porque siempre nos daba por llamarlo Twin Peaks, jijiji... Y nos fuimos directos a reservar una excursión de las típicas por la zona para el día siguiente: paseo por los campos de té con visita a la fábrica, rutilla por zona de jungla, subida al monte más alto de por allá (2.031m, tampoco es lo más...) y visita a un mariposario.

Pulau Perhentian u otra manera de pasar un cumpleaños genial

Tailandia no quiso dejarnos ir. Llovió constantemente por nuestra partida. Después de un largo camino en una van (bus pequeño, combi pa los peruanos) y de unos cambios extraños de van a van, llegamos por fin a la frontera de Tailandia y Malasia. La lluvia parecía no querer dejarnos en paz.
En medio de este percal (como diría Ana) nos encontramos con una pareja inglesa, exactamente de Yorkshire, David y Liza, con quienes decidimos compartir la aventura en busca del pueblo desde donde salían los ferries hacia Pulau Perhentian: Kuala Besut. Después de hacer todo el trámite de la visa (5 minutos) compartimos un taxi (teksi en malayo jiji) que después de un larguísimo viaje nos dejó en Kuala Besut, un pueblito muy pequeño. Llegamos muy tarde para el último barco hacia las islas Perhentian, por lo que tuvimos que pasar una noche en este pueblo. Por suerte esta pareja era muy amena y llevaban también un tiempo considerable viajando, por lo que fue entretenido. Además compartimos habitación con ellos, así todos nos ahorramos unas pelas.
A la mañana siguiente nos dirijiamos ya hacia las islas Perhentian, después de pagar un impuesto por ser un Parque Nacional, claro está. Decidimos ir los cuatro a Coral Bay, la playa pequeña de la isla. Mala desición. Se dice que es más tranquila y bonita. Mentira. Tranquila es porque no tiene más de 100 metros y casi no hay playa, está lleno de barcos y sin espacio en la arena para tumbarte, el agua lo cubre casi todo. Por lo que decidimos ir a la playa larga o Long Beach. Aquí encontramos un bonito lugar donde quedarnos, al igual que la pareja inglesa.
